This privacy policy explains how Trældal Forlag AS, company reg. no. 938 272 263, collects and processes personal data when you visit our website or shop in our online store.

The data controller is responsible for ensuring that personal data we collect is processed in accordance with Norwegian data protection law and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. What data we collect
We process the following personal data when you shop with us:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Delivery address (and billing address, if applicable)
- Order details (items ordered, quantity, price, chosen shipping/delivery method, any message/notes)
- Payment information processed by our payment provider (Vipps or card acquirer) – see section 4.
We also collect basic, non-personally-identifiable technical information (e.g. page views) to operate and improve the website. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
3. Purpose and legal basis
We process your personal data to:
- Fulfil our agreement with you – receive and deliver orders, send order confirmations, and keep you updated about your order (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Comply with legal obligations, including accounting and bookkeeping requirements (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).
- Respond to enquiries you send us by email, phone or contact form (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f), legitimate interest).
4. Payment information (Vipps and cards)
Payment in the online shop is handled by Vipps and/or our card acquirer. Card numbers, Vipps confirmation and other sensitive payment information go directly to the payment provider and are not stored by us. The payment providers are independent data controllers for the information they receive, and have their own privacy policies.
5. Who we share data with
We only share personal data with:
- Payment providers (Vipps, card acquirer) to process payment.
- Carriers/postal operators, to deliver your order.
- Sub-processors who operate technical solutions for us (e.g. hosting and email), under a data processing agreement.
We do not sell personal data to third parties, and only share data to the extent necessary to deliver the service or as required by law.
6. Retention period
Order and customer data is stored for as long as necessary to fulfil the agreement and legal requirements, including retention obligations under Norwegian bookkeeping law (normally 5 years after the end of the accounting year for vouchers). Data we no longer need or are required to keep is deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Under data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the data we have stored about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of data (where we do not have a legal obligation to retain it)
- Request restriction of processing
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Request data portability
To exercise your rights, contact us at post@traeldal.no. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) if you believe our processing of your personal data is not in accordance with the law.
8. Cookies
The website only uses necessary technical cookies, for example to remember the contents of your shopping cart. We do not use cookies for advertising or third-party tracking.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy as needed, for example due to changes in our services or the law. The current version is always available on this page.
